other sea cortez species - lorquinianus - 04-24-2010

the first one is similar to olivella zanoeta and has the smae lenght  1.5 cm, I thought it was a variation but I have other smaller with the same pattern

this other one measure 2 cm, is a volutidae o mitridae species? I could find any similar, is the only want I got. Has an amazing pattern.

The shell on the right in the first picture doesn't look like Olividae.  It looks like Mitridae.  I think it may be a beachworn Mitra tristis.  The second picture appears to be Imbricaria conularis, Mitridae.  It is not native to the Sea of Cortez.  <span class="petit">--Last edited by Paul Monfils on 2010-04-24 04:35:26 --</span>

Could you confirm the id, mitra Tristis, I send you a photo of a young specimen, because is to small, I saw on a web page that is from 1.5 cm.
