Hawaian shells - lulu.shell - 04-12-2010 Hello again! A few years ago someone gave me some Hawaian shells. They are all very small, and I haven't been able to classify any of them. Can anybody offer any suggestions? Thanks! <a href="http://www.badongo.com/pic/9229619" target="_blank"><!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.badongo.com/pic/9229619">http://www.badongo.com/pic/9229619</a><!-- m --></a> <a href="http://www.badongo.com/pic/9229623" target="_blank"><!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.badongo.com/pic/9229623">http://www.badongo.com/pic/9229623</a><!-- m --></a> <a href="http://www.badongo.com/pic/9229647" target="_blank"><!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.badongo.com/pic/9229647">http://www.badongo.com/pic/9229647</a><!-- m --></a> <a href="http://www.badongo.com/pic/9229655" target="_blank"><!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.badongo.com/pic/9229655">http://www.badongo.com/pic/9229655</a><!-- m --></a> <a href="http://www.badongo.com/pic/9229656" target="_blank"><!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.badongo.com/pic/9229656">http://www.badongo.com/pic/9229656</a><!-- m --></a> <a href="http://www.badongo.com/pic/9229657" target="_blank"><!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.badongo.com/pic/9229657">http://www.badongo.com/pic/9229657</a><!-- m --></a> <a href="http://www.badongo.com/pic/9229658" target="_blank"><!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.badongo.com/pic/9229658">http://www.badongo.com/pic/9229658</a><!-- m --></a> <a href="http://www.badongo.com/pic/9229663" target="_blank"><!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.badongo.com/pic/9229663">http://www.badongo.com/pic/9229663</a><!-- m --></a> <a href="http://www.badongo.com/pic/9229670" target="_blank"><!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.badongo.com/pic/9229670">http://www.badongo.com/pic/9229670</a><!-- m --></a> <a href="http://www.badongo.com/pic/9229680" target="_blank"><!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.badongo.com/pic/9229680">http://www.badongo.com/pic/9229680</a><!-- m --></a> Hawaian shells - paul monfils - 04-13-2010 1. Maculotriton bracteatus 2. Hipponix pilosus 3. not sure. Â May be Glycymeris diomeda. Â Would have to see a clear view of the interior, especially the hinge area, to confirm 4. Melampus castaneus 5. Same as 4? 6. probably Bittium zebrum 7. not sure, maybe a beach worn specimen of #8 8. Hipponix foliaceus 9. same as 8 10. Euplica varians (bottom); The upper shell looks like Subulina octona, a terrestrial species, but I'm not sure that's what it is.
