Re: know this mitridae ? - paul monfils - 07-10-2011 The first one is Zierliana woldemarii. The other is a puzzle for the moment. Re: know this mitridae ? - diocrisseashells1000 - 07-11-2011 Hello Paul, Many thanks in identifying the first one, i already put the label on it. any lucky guest for the no. 2, please ? Re: know this mitridae ? - diocrisseashells1000 - 07-11-2011 could this no. 2 belong to this specie ? i just happen to view this when i was searching... anybody,s opinion will gladly appreciated. THANKS ! http://www.gastropods.com/9/Shell_3479.shtml Diocris. Re: know this mitridae ? - paul monfils - 07-11-2011 I don't think this is Mitra litterata. It doesn't have the typical form of a Strigatella. On the other hand, it does appear to be an immature specimen with a thin lip, so perhaps. I was wondering if it might be a small juvenile of a larger species ... Mitra cardinalis? ... or ...? Re: know this mitridae ? - diocrisseashells1000 - 07-11-2011 Hello Paul, i have here a juvenile m. cardinalis for comparison to my specie. your opinion please. http://www.flickr.com/photos/63645283@N ... 041940697/ Re: know this mitridae ? - paul monfils - 07-12-2011 Hmmmm ... similar, but not a match in my opinion. Re: know this mitridae ? - diocrisseashells1000 - 07-12-2011 ok, m. cardinalis is out, im out of option on what specie this might be, any suggestion ? thanks, diocris, Re: know this mitridae ? - dave r - 07-13-2011 I would go with subadult litterata. Re: know this mitridae ? - diocrisseashells1000 - 07-13-2011 Hello Dave, i dont know if it is sub adult, cause here in the Philippines the m. literatta are rather small. here are some comparison : http://www.flickr.com/photos/63645283@N ... 057423781/ i dont know the size of m. literatta in other locality, that is why i did not consider it as m.literatta at first. can this be possible that in other area the sizes might get differ ? |
