Hello posters

I'm new to the website and board.  There is so much wonderful stuff on here!  The live shells pages are beautiful.

I've been collecting shells forever, and have recently started trying to identify them all.  I've done pretty well so far (using this site a lot!), but would like some help with one shell.  I think it may be a land shell, but I'm not sure.

I can't work out how to get an image into my message.  I've had a look through the boards, but can't see anything, but maybe I missed it.  Can anyone tell me how to post an image?

Many thanks, Lulu

Hi Lulu,

Welcome to the website!  Yes, you are correct - it's a land snail.  Rhyssota otaheitana, from the Philippines.  In the commercial shell trade (gift shops, shellcraft, etc.) they call these "muffin snails".
Thank you for your help, Paul.  It's much appreciated.

I'm really enjoying finding out about my shells, only problem is I am seeing so many beautiful one's online and I want them all!

Hi Lulu,

Go here for instructions as to how to insert a photo directly into your post:

<a href="http://z14.invisionfree.com/Conchologist_Forum/index.php?showtopic=27" target="_blank"><!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://z14.invisionfree.com/Conchologist_Forum/index.php?showtopic=27">http://z14.invisionfree.com/Conchologis ... owtopic=27</a><!-- m --></a>

These instructions should work for all forum boards.

Good luck,
