Marginella angustata (Sowerby, 1846)
Cryptospira angustata?
Yes exactly. I didn't take time to look up the currently valid genus name.

This is the shell: <a href="http://www.gastropods.com/5/Shell_3745.shtml" target="_blank"><!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.gastropods.com/5/Shell_3745.shtml">http://www.gastropods.com/5/Shell_3745.shtml</a><!-- m --></a>
Sure looks like angustata, but I'm surprised to see it from the Philippines.  It is typically an Indian Ocean species.  Not that surprising though - you never know what is going to turn up in the Philippines. Can anyone confirm that it actually does occur in the Philippines?
came in a bag of shells from the Philippines

Paul,just because it came in a bag of shells from the Philippines does not necessarily mean it actually came from there!<img src="images/smiley/wink.gif" alt="" border="0" />
