Is there such a shell as a  Sailor's ear ?
Guess I need help with this one .

This is Raeta plicatella, formerly known as Anatina plicatella, in the family Mactridae.  (Actually I'm not certain which genus name is current.) Often called "channeled duck clam".  Yes.
