I'm not sure if these specie is seashell or land snail. I found it in shore, near to mangroves.

1. Siphonaria sp.

2. This looks like a juvenile Strombus, but I can't place the species. I have seen juveniles of just about all the smaller species, and this doesn't quite look like any of them. I'm wondering if it might be a juvenile of a large species like Strombus latissimus?? I've never seen a juvenile of that species.

3. Turritella duplicata

4. (L) Nerita costata ® Nerita undata

5. Littorina sp. There are several similar species in that area, including L. scabra, L. melanostoma, L. undulata, etc. This specimen is too worn to be certain but the dark columella and general shape make me lean toward L. undulata.

6. My first impression when I saw this was that it looked like an immature Buccinum undatum, a species found in the North Atlantic, off my own coast. I'm not certain but this may be Siphonalia verrucosa (same family as Buccinum).

7. I believe this is an Ellobium, probably Ellobium aurisjudae. You would expect to find this species (and the Littorina) exactly where you found them - in shallow water near mangroves. --Last edited by Paul Monfils on 2009-10-22 02:22:16 --
I have just finished with all the species from Borneo. Your help have been invaluable. Thanks for all the bothers that you have had about me.
Thanks again Paul.
Rafa.
#2 looks to me like a juvenile Strombus luhuanus.
