Hi,
This is my first post on this site. I was hoping for some ID help on some cones. Â The labels were lost when I moved house a while back.
I think #1 may be Conus vexillum
and #3 could be C. magus  but I'm really not too sure.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

On second thought it's probably Conus capitaneus.

In my opinion:
1. Conus capitaneus
2. Conus quercinus
3. Conus magus
4. Conus anemone
5. Conus aureus
6. Conus arenatus

Hi! I'm from Palawan, Philippines.. I'm also a collector here..
Then 1st conus is not Conus vexillium it's a good size Conus capitaneus.. You're right in number #3 it's Conus magus but under the form of raphanus so you can call it Conus magus forma raphanus..
#2 Conus quercinus
#4 Conus anemone - but unsure about it..
#5 Conus Auricomus
#6 Conus Arenatus - if it's granulose it's under the form of granulosa.. So it's Conus arenatus forma granulosa..

Thank you both very much Paul and Rafael for taking the time to help with ID's. It's greatly appreciated.
Can anyone recommend a good cone shell book? Is "Cone shells of the world" by Marsh, J. A. and O. H. Rippingale still current or is it too out of date?
Oh ... and I should have guessed the C. anemone. It's the only cone on our local beaches (Tasmania) although the local ones seem a little different. I have now located the original label for the one above and it was from Western Australia.

And also you're right about the Location of the Conus anemone, it is also can be found in South and East of Australia..
And about the book of Conidae, In my opinion I suggest Rockel, Korn & Korn (Manual of the Living Conidae) although I haven't got this but I had seen this before and it is good..
Taz, I have the Manual of the Living Conidae and I can thoroughly recommend it even if it is a little out of date.
