Full Version: Help to find the name of this rare specie

Hi, this shell I bought in La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico, the city is near the cortes sea and the pacific.
Its lenght is about 10 cm.

I've been looking for the species but i couldnt find it.

It is a good size and a very nice specimen though.

Thank you, I think was in muricidae family but I couldnt find it...
I have a growing shell collection and I´m looking all the species.

This is Vitularia salebrosa (King & Broderip, 1832).  Hope you didn't spend too much on it.  It's actually a moderately common shell, worth about 4 or 5 dollars.  <span class="petit">--Last edited by Paul Monfils on 2008-12-27 06:44:46 --</span>
