sorry second try with the photo

a shell I would like help to ID

I think your shell is an elongated Fasciolaria (Pleuroploca) trapezium Linné, 1758. Not a Whelk but one of the Horse Conch. It looks like one of my unusual F. trapezium here.. May I know where did you get this? and size? <img src="images/smiley/smile.gif" alt="" border="0" />
