I have this shell that I would like help to ID

It measures approx 9-10 inches long

Hi there. It is not a whelk, it belongs to the family Fasciolariidae; the Tulip and Spindle shells. It is the Florida Horse Conch <i>Pleuroploca papillosa</i>(Sowerby 1825) found from the S.E. United States to N. Mexico.
