i have no idea where this shell came from, i know nothing about seashells could you please tell me if this is rare and what kind it is and if it is worth anything, thanks for your help

This is a Babylonia, either Babylonia spirata (Spiraled Babylon Whelk) or Babylonia canaliculata (Channeled Babylon Whelk). Can't be sure which one it is from the end view. One of the other pics is too out of focus, and the third pic won't download. In either case, it is probably from India, and the value in prime condition would be about $2.00 to $3.00.
