These cones were taken under coral rubble in Kauai.  The smaller one was crabbed but the larger one (~40mm) was taken alive and is in great condition.  I labeled them as C. pennaceus but I've seen various other names out there (C. espiscopus, C. magnificus, etc.)  Is the Hawaiian species C. pennaceus?

Yes, they are Conus pennaceus. Conus episcopatus and magnificus do not occur in Hawaii. Conus episcopus is a form of pennaceus that lives only in Mauritius.
