Thanks, Paul. I just emailed you a photo.
I have cowries from the quadulan islands that are called strawberry cowries. Has anyone heard of this? If not I will post a photo.

Thanks for any help.
I have a photo now but am clueless on how to post it. Can anyone advise?

Thanks
Hello. There was a section on this website about how to post pictures. I must admit I am unable to locate it at the moment. I am one of the moderators of this site, but David is in charge of the actual structure of the site. I'll check with him on this subject. In the meantime, usually when you subscribe to a browser you receive a certain amount of free web space for your use. If you have such webspace available you can upload your picture to that location, and provide a link here so people can view the picture. If you don't have such webspace available, or don't know how to do this, you may email your picture directly to me - PaulCyp@cox.net - and I will post the picture and provide the link for you. Regards.
Here's your photo:

The species is Cypraea helvola, an abundant Indo-Pacific species. The usual common name is "honey cowrie".

David informs me that the informatiion page concerning posting of pictures is still here. You can find it at:

Paul,
Thanks a million. You're awesome. I'm a little disappointed that they're not rare, but at least the mystery is solved. They still have the sentimental value, though.
