Can anyone ID the shell found at the start of this video? It is about 2-3" and found near shore in Miss. Sound. Very common. Google: MOVO2C Shells at Biloxi - YouTube  Anyone know the scientific and common name? Thanks in advance.
I think it could be this:
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.gastropods.com/8/Shell_3008.shtml">http://www.gastropods.com/8/Shell_3008.shtml</a><!-- m -->
But it is hard to tell from moving pictures. Can you take any stills photos of them?
They could even possibly be this:
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.gastropods.com/4/Shell_1904.shtml">http://www.gastropods.com/4/Shell_1904.shtml</a><!-- m -->
Cheers,
Dave
I have found out that it is this: Google: Stramonita canaliculata Gray, 1839 (Southern Oyster Drill). Thanks.
Yes, that is the one in the first link . I thought it would be.
