I know wood cabinets are acidic and bad for shells. Is there anything I can do to change that? Any sort of sealant I can put on the cabinet, maybe?

Will a plastic box that's tightly closed enough keep the acidity from affecting anything?

I'd like to use one of those old wooden collection cabinets to store my good specimens (i.e. the ones that weren't sun-faded already when I found them), because I like how the cabinets look, but I'm not sure if there's any way to make that work.
