Received yesterday. Startling colors, very reminiscent of C. gaugaugini in Pionoconus also, especially in the dark spots around the spire. I have 2 specimens of this species, 48.7 & 56mm.
Hello,

Do you have any information about habitat of this cone ?

I found labels in the USNM collection that gave its locale as the Moluccas (Indonesia) but no information on depth, etc. Another specimen label gave its locale as Ralik Chain, Ujae Atoll, in the Marshall Islands. Again, not very helpful as to how it was found. From the Conchology, Inc. listing for this species: Most shells are dived between 20 and 40 m.

Thanks, that what I thought, it's a "scuba specie" !
