This is a bat volute, Cymbiola vespertilio, an abundant species throughout the tropical Indo-Pacific region.  It is exported by the ton for craftwork and tourist shop shell baskets, which is most likely where this one came from. It is an extremely variable species, in color, markings and to some extent in physical form. You can see another one in the post just below yours.
