The family identification page only shows gastropods. Where on the internet can I go to identify bivalves?
Hello,

We hope to expand the family identification page to include bivalves. I must admit, I prepared most of the images for that project over a year ago, but then got distracted by other matters. I'll have to contact David soon about getting that done. I'm afraid there isn't a wide-ranging bivalve site available, nothing comparable to, for example, www.gastropods.com If you have some idea of the family a bivalve might belong to, Poppe's conchology site - http://www.conchology.be - can be very helpful in pinning down exact species. And of course, if you can take clear photos of your bivalves and post them - or post links to them - here, you can often get ID's from other collectors.
This site is not bad:

There are quite a few good sites out there, it is just a question of looking for them. For example the Jacksonville Shell club site is good for Caribbean molluscs. If you get on a website check for any 'links' to other sites, they can be very useful at times. If you get one you like just Bookmark it to your favourites.

The latter one even has pictured guide for family identification (http://bigai.world.coocan.jp/pic_book/shape.html ).
