We may be in S. Padre I., TX. Plan some diving to maybe 100 ft. I'm wondering if anyone has found more "Caribbean" shells than say in Pensacola/N.Gulf coast? Such as Cowries, Tritons, Roostertail Conchs, etc.
Hi Tom,
Did you ever make it to Padre Isl? Â If it's a trip yet in the future, maybe you can get me some of the following shell?

Good luck, in any event.

We tentatively plan a trip there for April/May. Thanks for the pictures. This scallop looks much like the common Atlantic Bay Scallop found in Bays, etc. along the U.S. East and Gulf coasts.
It is. Â However, the Texas form seems to be one of those "common" shells that's surprizingly difficult to obtain.
