We may be in S. Padre I., TX. Plan some diving to maybe 100 ft. I'm wondering if anyone has found more "Caribbean" shells than say in Pensacola/N.Gulf coast? Such as Cowries, Tritons, Roostertail Conchs, etc.
Hi Tom,

Did you ever make it to Padre Isl?  If it's a trip yet in the future, maybe you can get me some of the following shell?

Good luck, in any event.

We tentatively plan a trip there for April/May. Thanks for the pictures. This scallop looks much like the common Atlantic Bay Scallop found in Bays, etc. along the U.S. East and Gulf coasts.
It is.  However, the Texas form seems to be one of those "common" shells that's surprizingly difficult to obtain.
