I got a shell down in Nassau, and I didn't notice it then, but when I got home, I noticed it smelled pretty bad. Now my living room kinda stinks, anything I can do to clean the shell better than the seller did so that it doesn't smell anymore?
Sure.  Mix some Chlorine bleach and water, about 1 part to 5.  Lower the shell into the container with the apex (the pointed tip of the spire) pointing down.  Leave it overnight.  Then flush out the shell with fresh water, preferably with a pressure nozzle like a garden hose.  Let it dry.  All or most of the odor should be gone.  If there is any residual odor you can repeat the process.  The bleach will not affect the colors of the shell.
