Here is a better photo of a shell that I asked for help with earlier, this time inside and outside.

I have no clue about it.

And, there's this clam, only one half. The third picture shows how huge the hinge is.

I am assuming these are European? The first is Spisula solida and the second Mya arenaria.

I believe Dave meant to say the third shell is Mya arenaria.  This and the Spisula are both marine species.  Mya arenaria is also abundant in the eastern United States, where I live.  It is a commercially important species here.  The second one however, with the black flaky periostracum, is a fresh water species.  I am not sure of the species.  <span class="petit">--Last edited by Paul Monfils on 2010-08-05 19:52:23 --</span>

Yes, sorry guys I meant the third! I see you are in the U.S., the other clam looks like an Elliptio. Google it up and see. Do you have a locality for it?
